To GLEE or not to GLEE..that is the Question!
I am torn! I LOVE music, so naturally I LOVE-D Glee. But now, it seems like it is getting WORSE and WORSE every episode. They keep trying to be "politically correct." The gays, teenage pregnancy, the underage alcohol drinking, and now lesbians and wanting to make sex-videos, and stating "that teenagers not having sex is like a lion being a vegetarian is unrealistic!" I have overlooked it in the beginning...yes shame on me. But now, after tonight's episode I am faced with the question...to continue watching it (for the music, of course, not for the morals), or to stop watching it all together. And just get the c.d.s

I have struggled with the same issue and you are completely correct that the episodes are getting worse and worse. I think the music for me has kept me watching week after week. But I think that it is time for me to take a stand with you. How sad they had to turn the show in this direction.
ReplyDeleteeveryone i know seems to be having this question! we totally got into it on summer reruns... and have been disappointed with almost every episode since this season. they are getting worse. doesn't seem worth it, to me. just get your gleek on cd style :)

Do what is right for you... if you feel guilty watching it, then don't. I've only watched one episode (or maybe half of one?), and found I didn't like it because of what you talked about. But maybe I would have gotten hooked had I started watching it earlier?
ReplyDeleteI am totally in the same boat. It just keeps getting worse!!! It's annoying. I keep thinking that it will get good again but it rarely does. I think we should just watch the singing parts on youtube... and the parts with Sue Sylvester. Cause she is funny. I haven't watched it the last two weeks so I don't know what goes on with the lesbian and drinking stuff yet. I might not watch those episodes.
ReplyDeleteStop watching. If all the people who had a problem with what they are doing stopped watching it, maybe it would make send a message. Or maybe society just sucks so bad that most people want that kind of trash in a citcom? Paul and I used to watch American Dreams several years ago. It was completely clean in the beginning, but after a couple seasons they started adding sex and whatnot. We stopped watching...and then it went off the air. Maybe no one liked it because it was too clean...but that's why we DID like it.

ReplyDeleteI agree. I loved the first season, but the second season has been a major letdown. It's not hilarious like it used to be, it's just downright filthy. I'm uncomfortable watching it. I didn't see last night's episode, but now I'm not sure if I'm going to!

ReplyDeleteWell, thanks...just so y'all know, I KNEW what the right answer was...to STOP watching. But I guess I wanted to see if others were in the same boat! Gosh, I love the music. But this season has just been a letdown, like Jen said. Oh well...but THANKS for the comments!
